Before You Feel Pressure

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَا تُهُ

I came across this video while scrolling through my FB timeline. I find it interesting and honestly there are truths lies on what the speaker in this video is saying.

Everyone has different path of life of their own. My path of life is not the same as yours, not even my husband and not even my parents. I remember when I was 18, after SPM, I heard a friend of mine said, one of her friends are married, who is at the same age as I was. Fast forward to 2012, there were some of my friends who already started their career and some are still studying, like me. Diplomas, degree, Matrix, IB, whatever it is.

Even now, I got married at the age of 24 (well actually 23) haha. I secured a job a year before that, which was 2016. Even when I graduated, there were some of my friends who are not graduated yet due to some reasons.

Talking about marriage, I just don't understand some Makcik(s) who keep on asking the question, "Bila nak kahwin ni? Dah habis belajar, dah dapat kerja dah pun. Anak makcik... " bla bla bla bla.

No, I'm not being disrespect to them but Makcik, there are other things that people can chase after aside from marriage. They have their own goals or achievement that they want to achieve before settle down with the one they love. Heyy, even in term of having a child pun.

I find it a bit insensitive for someone to ask "Bila nak dapat anak?". We don't know how much effort or how long, how much money they had invested to have one. For example, our beloved National Singer, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza. Dah berapa lama she tried to have a child? Alhamdulillah, after the long waits, she gave birth to one amazingly beautiful and cute little princess not long ago.

Some of my friends are still actively looking for a job. Some are considering changing their current position to a better one. Some of my seniors stopped working just to give more attention to their little one and to take care of their little family. Some of my friends are still struggling with the exams. Some are busy walking around doing rounds, lacks of sleep.

See, at the age of 24 (still), I am still looking for the one job/position that really suits me or rather the one that I really love to do. I don't know what's my hobby and to be honest, for not being able to know that is quite frustrating.

Everyone has their own pace. Don't freak out when people are rushing you using their own timeline. That's not fair but that also should not be the reason for you to lay back and do nothing. No. Keep searching for it, you'll find it. You'll be back on track when it is the right time.

May Allah ease our journey in the mean time. InsyaAllah. :)
